Bold. Full-bodied. Low in acidity. Freshly roasted in Phu Quoc.

What Makes Vietnamese Robusta Different?

Vietnamese Robusta is for coffee drinkers who enjoy a stronger and more intense cup. Compared with Arabica and Moka, Robusta naturally has a fuller body, more pronounced bitterness and lower acidity, giving the coffee a bold and powerful character.

Our Robusta comes from Dak Lak, one of Vietnam’s best-known coffee-growing regions. At MR AKA, we roast it in small batches in Phu Quoc to preserve freshness and bring out the natural strength of the beans.

What Does Robusta Coffee Taste Like?

The character of Robusta is not about being light or delicate. Its strength comes from its dense body, clear coffee intensity and firm bitterness.

While Arabica is appreciated for a cleaner and more refined character, and Moka for its distinctive aroma, Robusta delivers a cup that feels stronger, heavier and more direct.

Its relatively low natural acidity also makes it a good choice for people who prefer coffee that is bold without a sharp acidic sensation.

Robusta naturally contains more caffeine than Arabica, which is another reason it is often chosen by people who enjoy a stronger coffee experience.

Our Robusta beans are carefully selected from Dak Lak and brought to Phu Quoc, where MR AKA roasts them in small batches.

We roast without added flavoring, focusing instead on bringing out the natural character of Vietnamese Robusta — its strength, full body and unmistakable coffee intensity.

Fresh roasting also helps us deliver the aroma and character we want customers to experience when they prepare the coffee at home.

How to Enjoy Robusta Coffee

Robusta works especially well with brewing methods that emphasize body and intensity, such as Vietnamese Phin, espresso, moka pot and Turkish coffee.

Its strong character also makes it suitable for coffee with milk, because the coffee flavor remains noticeable even after milk is added.

The right grind size depends on the brewing method. At MR AKA, we first ask how you usually prepare your coffee, then help you choose a suitable grind for your preferred brewing style.
